Using the Vive Back Ice Wrap

The Vive Back Ice Wrap is designed to deliver targeted hot or cold therapy with adjustable compression to the lower back. Before applying the wrap, insert the prepared Arctic Flex gel pack into the interior pocket and position it so it rests comfortably against the lower back.

1. Place the gel pack inside the interior pocket.
2. Wrap the support around your waist with the gel pack centered over the lower back.
3. Fasten the main closure securely.
4. Adjust the dual compression straps until the wrap feels supportive and comfortable.
5. Wear while sitting, standing, or walking as needed.

The wrap should feel snug but should never be tightened enough to restrict circulation or cause numbness, tingling, or discomfort.

Preparing the Gel Pack for Cold Therapy

1. Lay the gel pack flat in the freezer for a minimum of two hours.
2. Remove the frozen gel pack from the freezer.
3. Insert the gel pack into the wrap before applying it.
4. Limit cold therapy sessions to 15–20 minutes unless otherwise directed by your healthcare provider.

Heating the Gel Pack in a Microwave

Allow a frozen gel pack to return to room temperature before heating.

1. Place the gel pack on a microwave-safe paper towel or paper plate.
2. Heat in the microwave at full power.
3. Check the temperature after heating.
4. If additional warmth is needed, continue heating in short intervals until the desired temperature is reached.
5. Carefully insert the warmed gel pack into the wrap before use.

Always test the gel pack before applying it to your skin. Do not use heat therapy for longer than 15–20 minutes at a time.

Heating the Gel Pack in Hot Water

1. Bring water to a boil.
2. Remove the water from the heat source.
3. Place the gel pack into the hot water for approximately 2½–3 minutes.
4. Remove the gel pack carefully and dry it thoroughly.
5. Check the temperature before inserting it into the wrap.

Important Safety Information

• Never apply a frozen or heated gel pack directly to bare skin.
• Always use the gel pack inside the wrap’s interior pocket.
• Inspect the gel pack before each use. Do not use if it is punctured, leaking, or damaged.
• Consult your healthcare provider before using temperature therapy if you have reduced sensation or impaired circulation.
• Discontinue use if you experience burning, excessive redness, numbness, or increased pain.

Cleaning and Care

• Remove the gel pack before cleaning the wrap.
• Spot clean the wrap using a damp cloth and mild detergent.
• Allow the wrap to air dry completely before reuse.
• Do not machine wash or machine dry.
• Store the gel pack flat in a cool, dry location when not in use.
