Using the Arctic Flex Ice Eye Mask
The Arctic Flex Ice Eye Mask may be used for hot or cold therapy. Prepare the gel mask or round facial packs before applying them to the treatment area.
- Prepare the eye mask or facial packs for cold or heated use.
- Place the gel mask inside the removable fabric cover if desired.
- Position the mask comfortably over the eyes.
- Wrap the adjustable strap around the head and secure the fastener.
- Adjust the strap until the mask feels secure without creating excessive pressure.
- Apply the two round packs directly over smaller treatment areas as needed.
The mask should feel comfortable and secure. Loosen or remove it if you experience excessive pressure, numbness, irritation, or increased discomfort.
Preparing the Gel Packs for Cold Therapy
- Place the eye mask or round gel packs flat in a standard freezer for at least two hours.
- Remove the gel pack from the freezer.
- Place the fabric cover over the eye mask if desired.
- Apply the pack to the treatment area.
- Limit each treatment session to the recommended duration.
The gel remains flexible when frozen so it can contour comfortably around the eyes and face.
Heating the Gel Packs in a Microwave
- Remove the fabric cover before heating.
- Place only the gel pack in the microwave.
- Heat the gel pack for 15 seconds.
- Carefully check the temperature.
- If additional warmth is needed, reheat in 5-second intervals.
- Remove the gel pack from the microwave and place it inside the fabric cover.
- Apply the covered gel pack to the treatment area.
Watch the gel pack carefully while heating. The temperature must not exceed 150°F. Microwave performance varies, so always check the temperature before applying the pack.
Using the Round Facial Packs
The two included round gel packs may be used for smaller treatment areas such as the eyes, cheeks, jaw, or other areas affected by soreness, bumps, bruises, or dental discomfort.
- Prepare each round pack for hot or cold use using the same precautions as the eye mask.
- Place the packs over the desired treatment areas.
- Use a clean cloth as a protective barrier if needed.
- Do not apply excessive pressure to the eyes or injured areas.
Important Safety Information
- Do not exceed 30 minutes of hot or cold therapy during a single treatment session.
