Using the Arctic Flex Shoulder Ice Wrap

The Arctic Flex Shoulder Ice Wrap can be worn on either the left or right shoulder and may be used with or without the included gel pack. Prepare the gel pack for hot or cold therapy before placing it inside the brace.

1. Place the prepared gel pack inside the interior mesh pocket and secure the pocket closure.
2. Configure the reversible brace so the chest-strap D-ring faces forward on the affected side.
3. Loosen the bicep strap and slide the affected arm into the brace.
4. Position the top of the brace securely over the shoulder.
5. Bring the chest strap behind your back and under the opposite arm.
6. Thread the chest strap through the front D-ring and fasten it comfortably.
7. Secure the bicep strap around the upper arm.
8. Adjust the exterior compression tabs to increase or decrease the amount of pressure over the shoulder.

The wrap should fit securely without restricting circulation or causing numbness, tingling, or increased discomfort.

Preparing the Gel Pack for Cold Therapy

1. Lay the gel pack flat in a freezer or refrigerator for at least two hours.
2. Remove the chilled or frozen gel pack.
3. Place the gel pack inside the interior mesh pocket of the shoulder wrap.
4. Secure the pocket closure before applying the wrap.

Always check the gel pack before use and follow the treatment duration recommended by your physician or physical therapist.

Heating the Gel Pack in a Microwave

1. Place the gel pack on a paper towel or paper plate inside the microwave.
2. Heat the gel pack at full power for 15 seconds.
3. Carefully remove the gel pack and knead it to distribute the heat evenly.
4. Check the temperature before use.
5. If additional warmth is needed, reheat the gel pack in 10-second intervals.
6. Place the heated gel pack inside the interior mesh pocket and secure the closure.

Watch the gel pack carefully while heating. Stop the microwave immediately if the gel pack begins to expand. Microwave performance varies, so always test the temperature before applying the wrap.

Adjusting the Compression

The exterior compression pad includes fastening tabs that allow you to customize the pressure applied to the shoulder.

• Move one or both tabs outward to increase compression.
• Move one or both tabs inward to decrease compression.
• Readjust the brace as needed when using it without the gel pack.

Important Safety Information

• Inspect the gel pack before every use and discontinue use if it is leaking, punctured, swollen, or damaged.
• Do not overheat the gel pack.
• Stop heating immediately if the gel pack begins to expand.
• Do not tighten the straps enough to restrict circulation.

• Machine wash or hand wash the brace in cold water with mild detergent.
• Allow the brace to air dry completely before use.
• Do not use bleach.
• Store the gel pack flat and away from sharp objects.
