Using the Bath Seat

The NOVA Bath Seat with Arms & U-Shaped Hygienic Cutout is designed to provide support when a seated bathing position is needed in the bath or shower. The backrest provides seated support, the padded arms can be used for stability and balance when lowering onto or rising from the chair, and the U-shaped opening provides easier access for personal cleaning.

Assembling the Bath Seat

The 9037 uses a push-button snap-together design and does not require tools for assembly. Before use, make sure every push button has clicked completely into its corresponding hole and that the finished bath seat is level and stable.

1. Place the seat face down on a level surface and insert the four adjustable legs into the tubing holes.
2. Depress each push button and push the tube into position until the button clicks and locks.
3. Insert the L-shaped back tubes into the backrest tubing holes until the push buttons click into their locked positions.
4. Insert the backrest assembly into the seat frame until the push buttons click and lock into position.
5. Place the chair upright and insert the arms into the frame, depressing both push buttons until each arm clicks and locks into position.
6. Make sure the arms curve inward toward each other.
7. Adjust the legs to the desired seat height using the push buttons and numbered adjustment holes.
8. Make sure the bath seat is level and stable and that every push button is fully engaged before use.

Adjusting the Seat Height

Use the push buttons and numbered adjustment holes in the legs to set the desired seat height. NOVA requires all four chair legs to be adjusted to the same numbered height so the bath seat remains level.

Using the Padded Arms

The removable padded arms are designed to provide support, stability, and balance when lowering onto or rising from the bath seat. NOVA’s user guide specifically permits the arms to be used to help lower or raise the user into and out of the chair.

Using the U-Shaped Hygienic Cutout

The seat incorporates a U-shaped opening designed to aid with personal cleaning while seated. This provides easier access for hygiene without requiring the user to stand during the bathing process.

Important Safety Information

• Do not exceed the 300 lb. maximum weight capacity.
• Adjust all four chair legs to the same numbered height so the bath seat sits level.
• Make sure the legs and backrest are secure and every push button is completely locked into its corresponding hole before use.
• Check the bath seat before each use and make sure it remains stable before sitting.
• Use the bath seat on a level surface.
• Do not stand on the bath seat.
• Use the padded arms for stability and balance as needed when lowering onto or rising from the chair.
• Follow all manufacturer assembly and use instructions carefully before using the bath seat.

Cleaning and Care

NOVA instructs users to clean the Bath Seat with a mild detergent and warm water. Regularly check the chair to make sure all brass push buttons remain securely locked into their holes and that the bath seat remains stable before sitting.

Warranty

NOVA provides a Limited Lifetime Warranty on the metal frame and a one-year limited warranty on non-metal/metal parts, including rubber tips and plastic or metal hardware. The warranty applies to the original purchaser and covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use; it does not cover user negligence, misuse, failure to follow product instructions, normal wear and tear, negligent abuse, or unauthorized modifications.
