Using the Bath Seat

The NOVA Bath Seat is designed to provide a stable seating surface inside a suitably sized bathtub or shower. Before sitting down, make sure all four legs are securely positioned, the bath seat is level and stable, and the push buttons are fully engaged.

Adjusting the Seat Height

The height is adjusted using the push button on each leg. NOVA requires all four legs to be adjusted to the same height so the bath seat remains level and stable.

1. Place the bath seat face down on a level surface with the legs facing upward.
2. Depress the brass push button on a leg and slide the leg to the desired height.
3. Continue adjusting until the push button clicks securely into the selected adjustment hole.
4. Repeat the process for each of the remaining legs.
5. Make sure all four legs are set to the same height and every push button is fully engaged and locked before use.

Positioning the Bath Seat

Place the bath seat inside the bathtub or shower and make sure it is stable and does not wobble before sitting down. NOVA specifies that the bathtub or shower must be wide enough to accommodate all four legs securely.

Using the Hand Grips

The slots along the sides of the seat can be used as handles when sitting down or getting up from the bath seat. NOVA specifically instructs users to hold both side handles for stability because placing weight on only one side can cause the bench to topple.

Using a Handheld Shower Head

The two round openings located at the front and rear corners of the seat can be used to hold a compatible handheld shower head. A handheld shower set is not included with the Bath Seat.

Important Safety Information

• Do not exceed the 300 lb. maximum weight capacity.
• Make sure all four legs are adjusted to the same height so the bath seat remains level.
• Make sure every brass push button is completely locked into its adjustment hole before use.
• Check the bath seat before each use.
• Make sure the bench is stable and does not wobble before sitting down.
• Use the Bath Seat only in bathtubs and showers that are wide enough to accommodate all four legs securely.
• Use both hands on the side handles for stability; NOVA warns that using only one side can topple the bench.
• Do not stand on the Bath Seat.
• Do not use the Bath Seat itself as an assistive device for entering or exiting the bathtub or shower.
• Supervision or assistance is recommended for individuals with limited mobility.

Cleaning and Care

NOVA recommends regular cleaning with a non-abrasive cleaner or detergent followed by rinsing with warm water. Do not use abrasive cloths because they may damage the surface.

• Regularly inspect the Bath Seat and its components for corrosion, breakage, compression, or wear.
• Check the legs regularly to make sure they remain securely set.
• Confirm that all four legs remain at the same height and the brass push buttons are fully engaged.
• Discontinue use if damage or instability is found.

Warranty

NOVA provides a Limited Lifetime Warranty on the metal frame and a one-year limited warranty on non-metal/metal parts, including rubber tips and plastic or metal hardware. The warranty applies to the original purchaser and covers defects in materials and workmanship under normal use; it does not cover negligence, misuse, failure to follow product instructions, normal wear and tear, or unauthorized modifications.
