Using the Hand Held Shower Set

The NOVA 5 Function Deluxe Hand Held Shower Set is designed to provide additional reach and control while bathing, particularly for users who shower while seated. The extra-long hose allows the shower head to be moved around the body more easily from a bath bench or shower chair.

Choosing a Spray Setting

The adjustable shower head provides five settings for different bathing needs.

• Regular Spray: Controls water-flow strength while providing a broad spray.
• Shower Spray + Massage: Combines a shower spray with a massage setting.
• Shower Massage: Provides a concentrated massage-style spray.
• Water Drip: Reduces water flow and can serve as a reminder to turn the water off at the faucet when bathing is complete.
• Shower Stop: Temporarily stops flow at the handheld shower head to help conserve water during bathing.

Installing the Shower Set

NOVA’s user guide provides a five-step installation process for attaching the handheld shower set to an existing shower connection.

1. Remove the existing shower head from the shower spout.
2. Screw the included diverter valve onto the spout with the washer installed and do not overtighten it.
3. Attach the 84-inch hose to the bottom connection on the diverter valve.
4. Attach the NOVA handheld shower head to the other end of the hose. The shower head includes a water-saving washer, so no additional washer is required at this connection.
5. Use the supplied screws and mounting inserts to secure the shower head holder to the wall. NOVA notes that a drill may be required for some shower wall surfaces.

Using the Water Flow Controls

The shower head includes an On/Off water-flow control, and the five-position shower head also includes Water Drip and Shower Stop settings. These controls can make it easier to reduce or pause flow during bathing, but they do not replace the main faucet controls.

Important Safety Information

• Always turn the water off at the main faucet or tap after bathing.
• NOVA specifically warns that leaving the water on at the tap can create a risk of accidental scalding.
• Do not overtighten the diverter valve during installation.
• Make sure all hose connections are secure before using the shower head.
• Secure the wall-mount holder appropriately for the shower wall surface.
• Follow NOVA’s complete installation instructions before use.

Cleaning and Care

NOVA’s current product page and 9311-R User Guide do not provide a specific cleaning solution or maintenance procedure for the handheld shower set. Keep the shower head, hose, connections, and controls clean and follow any additional care instructions supplied with the product.
