Using the Orthotics
The PowerStep ProTech Full Length is designed to replace the removable factory insoles in compatible athletic and casual footwear. The orthotic should lie flat inside the shoe with the heel seated securely against the back.
- Remove the existing factory insole or liner from each shoe.
- Confirm that the selected ProTech size corresponds with your regular U.S. shoe size.
- Place each orthotic inside the corresponding shoe with the cushioned side facing upward.
- Push the orthotic fully back so the heel is seated against the rear of the shoe.
- Make sure the orthotic lies flat from heel to toe without folding, curling, or shifting.
- Put on the shoes and confirm that you have adequate heel security, toe room, and overall comfort.
Choosing a Size
The ProTech Full Length is available in 12 sizes covering men’s U.S. shoe sizes 3 through 16+ and women’s U.S. shoe sizes 5 through 12. Select the size that corresponds with your regular shoe size using PowerStep’s full-length insole sizing chart.

Choosing Appropriate Footwear
The ProTech Full Length provides maximum cushioning and requires more interior space than the low-profile ProTech Thin. It is best suited for compatible athletic and casual shoes with removable factory insoles.
- Remove the shoe’s original liner before inserting the orthotic.
- Make sure the shoe has enough length, width, and depth for the orthotic and your foot.
- Do not force the orthotic into footwear that causes its edges to curl or its forefoot to buckle.
- Confirm that the added cushioning does not crowd the toes or push the heel out of the shoe.
- Check the fit separately in each pair of shoes because interior dimensions vary between footwear styles.
Adjusting to the Support
PowerStep states that most new users need approximately one to two weeks to become accustomed to structured orthotic support.
- Wear the orthotics for up to one hour on the first day.
- Increase wear time by approximately one additional hour each day.
- Continue increasing wear time gradually as long as the orthotics remain comfortable.
- Reduce wear time if significant discomfort develops during the adjustment period.
- Consult an appropriate healthcare professional if discomfort persists or worsens.
Important Safety Information
- Select the arch height and support level recommended by your healthcare professional.
- Do not use an orthotic that is folded, damaged, excessively worn, or unable to lie flat inside the shoe.
- Stop using the orthotics and consult an appropriate healthcare professional if you experience persistent pain, numbness, skin irritation, pressure areas, or changes in walking comfort.
- People with diabetes, reduced foot sensation, impaired circulation, open wounds, or other conditions affecting the feet should follow the recommendations of their healthcare professional.
- The ProTech Full Length provides standard semi-rigid support and does not include the firmer arch or corrective heel wedge found in the ProTech Control models.
Cleaning and Care
- Spot clean the orthotics with mild detergent.
- Do not immerse or soak the orthotics in water.
- Allow the orthotics to air dry completely before returning them to the shoes.
- Do not place the orthotics in a washing machine or clothes dryer.
- Keep the orthotics away from direct heat while drying.
- Inspect the cushioning, arch support, heel area, and top surface regularly for visible wear or damage.
Replacement
PowerStep states that its insoles generally last approximately six months or longer, although service life varies with wear, usage, footwear, and activity level. Replace the orthotics when the cushioning becomes flattened, the support is visibly damaged, or there is a noticeable reduction in comfort or stability.
