Choosing Standard or Elongated

The NOVA Toilet Seat Riser is available in two versions designed to match the shape of your existing toilet. Both provide the same 3.75 inches of added height and 300 lb. weight capacity, but the overall dimensions and seat opening differ to properly accommodate each toilet style.

• 8342-R – Standard: Designed specifically for standard or round toilet bowls.
• 8341-R – Elongated: Designed specifically for elongated toilet bowls and provides a longer seating surface and opening.

Keep Your Existing Toilet Seat and Lid

Unlike raised toilet seats that sit on top of or replace the existing seat, the NOVA Toilet Seat Riser installs underneath your original toilet seat and lid. Once installed, you continue using the existing toilet seat while benefiting from an additional 3.75 inches of height.

Installing the Toilet Seat Riser

Both the Standard and Elongated models install using the toilet’s existing rear seat mounting locations. The riser is positioned between the toilet bowl and the original toilet seat and secured using the supplied mounting hardware.

1. Clean and sanitize the toilet before beginning installation.
2. Remove the existing toilet seat and lid by unscrewing the seat fasteners located at the rear of the toilet.
3. Place the Toilet Seat Riser on the toilet bowl, aligning the mounting holes at the rear of the riser with the mounting holes in the toilet.
4. Replace the original toilet seat and lid so the mounting holes in the seat, riser, and toilet bowl are aligned.
5. Place a metal washer onto each mounting screw.
6. Insert the mounting screws through the toilet seat and lid, Toilet Seat Riser, and toilet bowl.
7. Place the plastic washers onto the ends of the screws and attach the supplied wing nuts without completely tightening them.
8. Make sure the toilet seat is straight and sits flush on the riser.
9. Fully tighten the mounting hardware and verify that the complete assembly is secure before use.

Using the Toilet Seat Riser

The additional 3.75 inches of height reduces how far the user needs to lower when sitting down and rise when standing back up. NOVA instructs users to back up toward the toilet until their legs touch it and then slowly lower themselves onto the seat, applying weight evenly to the riser.

• Check that the original toilet seat sits straight and flush on the riser after installation.

• Discontinue use if the riser becomes damaged or cannot be securely mounted.
• Follow all manufacturer installation and use instructions.

Cleaning and Care

The durable plastic Toilet Seat Riser is designed for straightforward bathroom care. NOVA states that normal toilet cleaners can be used to wipe the riser clean and recommends regularly checking that the unit remains securely mounted.

• Clean the Toilet Seat Riser regularly using an appropriate toilet cleaner.
• Keep the seating and surrounding surfaces clean and sanitary.
• Regularly check the mounting hardware to make sure the riser remains securely attached.
• Inspect the riser and mounting components for damage or excessive wear.
• Discontinue use if the riser is cracked, damaged, loose, or unstable.

Warranty

NOVA lists a Limited Lifetime Warranty on the metal frame and a one-year limited warranty on non-metal/metal parts. Warranty coverage applies according to NOVA Medical Products’ terms and conditions.
