Using the Tub Grab Bar

The NOVA Tub Grab Bar is designed to provide an additional handhold when entering or leaving a bathtub or shower. Unlike a permanently mounted wall grab bar, this model clamps directly onto the side of a compatible bathtub and provides a 19-inch-high support handle above the tub wall.

Choosing a Compatible Bathtub

The Tub Grab Bar uses an adjustable clamp designed to accommodate compatible bathtub walls measuring from 3 to 7 inches wide. Before installation, measure the tub wall at the intended mounting location and make sure the clamp can attach securely.

• The clamp adjusts from 3 to 7 inches wide.
• Make sure the intended mounting location is compatible with the grab bar before installation.
• Position the grab bar where it can provide a useful handhold when entering and exiting the tub.
• Do not use the grab bar if it cannot be securely clamped to the bathtub.

Securing the Grab Bar

The grab bar uses an adjustable clamp with an easy-turn knob to secure it to the bathtub. Rubber contact points are positioned where the clamp meets the tub.

1. Choose an appropriate location on a compatible bathtub wall within the 3-to-7-inch clamp adjustment range.
2. Position the grab bar over the bathtub wall with the rubber contact points against the tub.
3. Use the adjustment knob to tighten the clamp until the grab bar is securely attached.
4. Check the grab bar for movement and make sure it is firmly secured before use.
5. Recheck the attachment regularly to make sure the grab bar remains secure.

Cleaning and Care

NOVA’s current product page does not list specific cleaning instructions for the 8220 Tub Grab Bar. Keep the powder-coated steel frame, rubber contact points, clamp, and adjustment knob clean, inspect the product regularly for damage or looseness, and follow the care instructions provided in the manufacturer’s user guide.

Warranty

NOVA lists a Limited Lifetime Warranty on the metal frame and a one-year warranty on non-metal/metal parts for the Tub Grab Bar.
