Choosing a Compatible Bathtub

The Wonder Bathtub Pole is designed specifically for standard alcove bathtubs with flat sides. Stander specifies bathtub rims between 3 and 7 inches wide and bathtub heights between 13 and 21 inches.

Checking Your Ceiling

The standard Wonder Bathtub Pole is designed for flat ceilings measuring between 7 and 9 feet high. Stander states that this model cannot be installed on a vaulted ceiling or a ceiling higher than 9 feet.

Installing the Bathtub Pole

1. Confirm that the bathtub and ceiling meet Stander’s compatibility requirements before installation.
2. Position the bathtub clamp on the compatible flat bathtub rim according to Stander’s assembly instructions.
3. Position the upper section of the pole against the flat ceiling.
4. Tighten the tension mechanism according to Stander’s instructions so the pole creates secure clamping pressure between the bathtub and ceiling.
5. Check that the complete assembly is secure before using the grab bar for support.
6. For additional security, Stander includes hardware that can be used to hard-mount the pole to the ceiling if desired.

Using the Pole with a Shower Curtain

Because the bathtub pole extends from the tub rim to the ceiling, Stander recommends using two shower curtains to help contain water, with one curtain positioned on each side of the pole. Curtain rods should be installed on the outside of the bathtub pole.
