Using the Wonder Bathtub Pole
The Stander Wonder Bathtub Pole provides a support handle close to the bathtub for assistance while bathing, standing, or transferring into and out of the tub. The curved ladder-style grab bar rotates around the pole and locks every 45 degrees so the handhold can be positioned where support is needed.
Rotating the Grab Bar
The curved grab bar rotates 360 degrees around the pole and provides multiple locking positions. Position the grab bar as needed for the intended bathing or transfer activity and make sure it is securely locked before relying on it for support.
- The grab bar rotates through a full 360 degrees.
- The grab bar locks into position every 45 degrees.
- Make sure the grab bar is securely locked into position before using it for support.
- Choose a position that provides support without requiring unnecessary reaching during the transfer.
Choosing a Compatible Bathtub
The Wonder Bathtub Pole is designed specifically for standard alcove bathtubs with flat sides. Stander specifies bathtub rims between 3 and 7 inches wide and bathtub heights between 13 and 21 inches.

- The bathtub rim must measure between 3 and 7 inches wide.
- The bathtub must measure between 13 and 21 inches high.
- Measure the bathtub before purchasing to confirm compatibility.
Checking Your Ceiling
The standard Wonder Bathtub Pole is designed for flat ceilings measuring between 7 and 9 feet high. Stander states that this model cannot be installed on a vaulted ceiling or a ceiling higher than 9 feet.
- Ceiling height must be between 7 and 9 feet.
- The ceiling must be flat.
- Do not install this model on a vaulted or slanted ceiling.
- For ceilings higher than 9 feet or vaulted ceilings, Stander directs customers to the Wonder Bathtub Pole Premium instead.
Installing the Bathtub Pole
The Wonder Bathtub Pole installs using tension between the bathtub rim and ceiling. Tightening the pole creates clamping pressure that holds the assembly in place, allowing standard installation without drilling.
- Confirm that the bathtub and ceiling meet Stander’s compatibility requirements before installation.
- Position the bathtub clamp on the compatible flat bathtub rim according to Stander’s assembly instructions.
- Position the upper section of the pole against the flat ceiling.
- Tighten the tension mechanism according to Stander’s instructions so the pole creates secure clamping pressure between the bathtub and ceiling.
- Check that the complete assembly is secure before using the grab bar for support.
- For additional security, Stander includes hardware that can be used to hard-mount the pole to the ceiling if desired.
Using the Pole with a Shower Curtain
Because the bathtub pole extends from the tub rim to the ceiling, Stander recommends using two shower curtains to help contain water, with one curtain positioned on each side of the pole. Curtain rods should be installed on the outside of the bathtub pole.
